Prevent Silent Failure

Is It Actually
Recording?

The worst time to find out your cameras are broken is after a break-in. We provide comprehensive maintenance to clean lenses, fix connection errors, and ensure your surveillance system is capturing clear, usable evidence.

Lens & Dome Cleaning

Spider webs are the enemy of night vision. They reflect Infrared (IR) light, blinding the camera at night. We physically clean every dome and lens, restoring crystal-clear night vision.

HDD Health Check

Surveillance hard drives run 24/7 and eventually fail. We check the S.M.A.R.T. status of your NVR storage drives and replace them before they crash, preventing data loss.

Firmware Security

Outdated cameras are vulnerable to hackers. We patch your NVR and cameras with the latest firmware from manufacturers like Hikvision and Dahua to close security backdoors.

The 10-Point Inspection.

We check everything, so you don't have to.

01

Physical Audit

We inspect cabling for weather damage, check mounting brackets for rust or looseness, and ensure cameras haven't been shifted by wind or vandalism.

02

Image Tuning

We adjust focus, zoom, and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) settings to ensure doorways and faces aren't washed out by sunlight or shadows.

03

Recording Verification

We perform a playback test to confirm the system is actually recording, verify the retention period (e.g., 30 days), and check for skipped frames.

04

Power Test

We test the voltage on PoE switches and power supplies. Failing power supplies often cause cameras to drop out intermittently at night.

Common Questions

Why is my camera foggy at night?

This is usually "IR Reflection." Spider webs or dirt on the lens reflect the camera's own infrared light back into the lens, causing a white fog. Cleaning fixes this immediately.

Can you unlock a system if I lost the password?

Yes. We have dealer tools and direct manufacturer support to reset passwords for Hikvision, Dahua, and most major brands without wiping your data.

Fix My Cameras

Common faults we trace

Security camera repair in Long Beach and San Pedro usually starts with one of a few symptoms. Finding the cause matters, because swapping a camera will not help when the problem is the cable, the power or the recorder.

  • "No video" or "video loss" on one channel. Often a corroded connector, a water-damaged outdoor junction or a failed power adapter rather than a dead camera.
  • Several cameras dropping out at once. Typically a PoE switch that has run out of power budget, an overheating recorder or a failing network switch.
  • Gaps in recordings. A full or failing hard drive, a recording schedule changed by mistake, or motion rules too strict to trigger.
  • Wrong date and time on footage. A recorder without time synchronization, which makes the footage harder to use as evidence.
  • No remote viewing. A replaced router, a new internet provider or an expired cloud account, usually fixable without new hardware.

What to have ready before a visit

The recorder's admin password if you have it, its make and model, a rough map of camera locations and a note of when the problem started. Photos of the recorder screen and any error messages save time on site. If renovations or an office move are coming up, tell us, since cameras and cabling are easier to relocate with a plan.

Frequently asked questions about CCTV System Maintenance & Repair

How much does security camera repair cost?

It depends on what failed. A loose connector or a settings problem is a short job, while a failed recorder or damaged outdoor cabling means parts and more labor. We diagnose first and explain the options before any parts are ordered.

Is it worth repairing an old CCTV system?

If the cabling is sound and the cameras still give usable images, replacing a failed drive, power supply or recorder is often sensible. Older analog systems with poor image quality are frequently better upgraded, and we explain both paths before you decide.

How often should CCTV maintenance be done?

A regular schedule, for example every six months, suits most systems, and cameras exposed to salt air, dust or spiders near the coast need attention more often. Between visits, a quick weekly playback check catches most recording failures early.

Related services: remote camera viewing on your phone, office IT relocation, including cameras and recorders and office electronics cleanout for retired recorders that still hold footage.

Scheduled security system maintenance for businesses

Scheduled security system maintenance catches the failures nobody notices until footage is needed: a drive with SMART warnings, a camera knocked out of position, a spider web over a lens or a recorder whose clock has drifted. For most sites a visit every six months is a sensible rhythm, and cameras exposed to salt air, dust or spiders near the coast need attention more often.

Business security system maintenance handles security and maintenance in one visit: firmware on the recorder and cameras is updated and time synchronization is checked. That security maintenance matters as much as the cleaning, because outdated cameras and recorders are vulnerable to attack. Our security system maintenance services in Long Beach and Los Angeles cover systems we installed and systems installed by others, and every visit ends with a playback test. Between visits, security equipment maintenance can be as simple as a weekly playback check.
